A shrub or small tree native typically 2-6metres tall with an upright bushy habit. It forms tight, wind-shorn domes on exposed headlands. Highly resistant to coastal exposure, wind and salt spray, it grows in dry, free-draining coastal soils and occasionally in estuary swamps.
